Stay at Awana Langkawi Porto Malai & Breakfast

Awana Langkawi & Breakfast

Every time we visited Langkawi, Awana Porto Malai Langkawi Resort will comes to our mind first. The first time we visited Langkawi and myself have decided to stay at Awana Langkawi as I am part of the Genting Group staff (A short brief: Genting Group owns Awana Resort which includes Awana Genting - Genting Highlands, Awana Kijal - Kuantan and Awana Porto Malai - Langkawi and eventually all have been renamed to Resort World).

Alright get back to the story. Why we re-choose Awana Porto Malai again is not because it is near to the town area as it is quite far away from the Kuah Town. But that's one thing that not all the resort will have this opportunity for all the guests which is you will get to see the sunrise directly from Awana Porto Malai. I would recommend to get at least Seaview room to see the sunrise.

This picture might not be the best as I just used an amatuer Nikon Camera D3100 to take this scene. Every time I am staying there, I will wake up early to see this Sunrise at around 6.45am - 7.30am. I love the view and some of sea view with some of the yachts.

After looking at the sunrise, time for breakfast. You can have your breakfast outside of the cafeteria and enjoy the sea wave sounds too. Last time when we are there, we used to make some breads and feed the fish after our breakfast (but bear in mind it is quite illegal).

The breakfast offered by Awana Porto Malai is some sort like English Breakfast which you can get some breads, cereals, eggs or scramble eggs, fried noodles or Nasi Lemak, hams, salad, juices and fruits or even many mores.

Food Trucks @ Langkawi Airport Road

Great Food by Side Road Food Truck

On our last day at Langkawi, we have decided to try some of the food truck foods. Starting 2pm, you can see some of this food truck setting up at side of the Langkawi Airport road.

On the back of the side roads, you will see some calm sea and windy weather. Well, i think it is a cooling place to sit down and have a food with coconut too.

First Food Truck (we start from the end)

I asked the Mak Cik what is this called and she just said it is Bi Hun Soup. This bi-hun soup is a food that you should not miss out when you are at the Langkawi. The soup taste so good and the sambal paste is so fragrant smell. The chicken tender is well cooked. I paid about RM3 - 4 for this bowl.

No name truck: Rating 4 out of 5 [My rating]

Second Food Truck

Since it stated laksa corner, so we ordered their Laksa food.

The laksa food tasted like the Asam Laksa and I taught it their Laksa food is something like Penang Curry Laksa. For me, I think it is just not that great but still fine as I don't really eat Asam Laksa.

This food truck also do sell Fruit Rojak but the rojak does not taste as great as I expected. We paid about RM7 - RM8 for both of the food.

Laksa Corner: Rating 2.5 - 3 out of 5 [My rating]

Three Food Truck

Final food truck before we enter Langkawi Airport.

I did not managed to take the food truck from the front. This is the inner place of the Laksa Power Pantai Airport. We selected some of the fried foods near to the food truck and they pour some of the satay sauce on top of it.

The fried food with satay sauce taste great! Lots of ppl comes to their food truck for this fried foods too! Besides, we also wish to try the Char Kuey Teow as we know Malay style of cooking is different a bit from Chinese way.

Even though the kuey teow goreng is quite messy and wet, it taste good! I love the sauce and flavour they use! Overall, we paid about RM 12 - RM15 including the drinks.

Scarborough Fish and Chips - Langkawi, Malaysia

Tasty Fish & Chip @ Langkawi

This restaurant name is Scarborough Fish and Chips which is located at Jalan Tanjung Rhu. You will pass by this small restaurant (on your left side) when you are going to Tanjung Rhu Resort in Langkawi.

It has few seats in marble for customers to seat down for food and beers.

Since I am a Fish & Chips hardcore fans and all-time British Fish & Chips lovers, I have ordered one of their Fish & Chips and they requires 15 - 20 minutes to prepare the Fish & Chips.

While waiting for our Fish&Chips to be cooked, we went to the sea in front of the restaurant for fun a while (For your info, we are there at 1.30pm and I think it is pretty hot there). The view is such a splendid.

After having a great time snapping pictures of the sea views, we return to the restaurant and paid around RM16 - RM18 for the Fish & Chips. Then, finally the moment I have been waiting for!

The first taste was the surface of the Fish which is so crunchy! Besides for those vinegar lovers, this Fish is battered with vinegar in the flour and it taste so good! If I am going back Langkawi again, I will revisit them and this time is with the beers during the sunset time!

For me, it is worth the waiting and worth spending my money to buy this Fish & Chips!
